Canine Independence Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing comprehensive training and socialization of service dogs. With 26 years of industry experience, we have developed deep expertise in raising and training puppies from 8 weeks old through advanced socialization, basic obedience, and early task training. Our mission is to lead with unwavering dedication to the development, support, and advancement of canine capabilities, ensuring they can thrive as vital partners in enhancing human independence.
We focus exclusively on empowering canines through comprehensive training, care, and advocacy. Our services include puppy development and training, specialized behavioral assessment to identify candidates best suited for advanced training, and health and welfare management. All of our services are provided at no cost to recipients, and we offer initial support to ensure the success of human-canine partnerships. By championing canine welfare and promoting positive awareness, we strive to create a world where every canine’s potential is recognized, nurtured, and celebrated.
Our Services

Puppy Development & Training
Comprehensive training program guiding puppies from 8 weeks old through advanced socialization, basic obedience, and early task training. We develop puppies into well-adjusted, confident canines prepared for advanced service dog roles.

Behavioral Assessment & Selection
Expert evaluation of puppies’ temperaments and behavioral characteristics to identify which candidates are best suited for advanced service dog training. Our assessment ensures optimal matches between dogs and individuals with disabilities.

Health, Nutrition & Welfare Management
Comprehensive care program maintaining strict health standards, proper nutrition, and appropriate exercise regimens. We ensure every dog in our program receives the highest quality of care to support their physical and mental well-being.
